HOW TO SIGN UP FOR hyperWALLET

In order to use hyperWALLET, Rochdale members must have:

  • A chequing or savings account
  • Access to these accounts via MemberDirect

Rochdale has enabled hyperWALLET directly in the MemberDirect banking interface. This integration enables MemberDirect users to signup directly from their online banking. Simply log in to MemberDirect, and click on the hyperWALLET link on the left side of the MemberDirect screen to initiate the sign-up process.

Once signed up, members can transfer cash into hyperWALLET just as they would transfer funds from savings to chequing. From within MemberDirect, follow these simple steps;

  • Click on the “Transfers” tab on the top of the MemberDirect screen
  • Click on the “Transfer to hyperWALLET” tab on the left side of the screen
  • Input the transfer details

The cash is immediately transferred into your Wallet and you can then use hyperWALLET’s suite of payment tools to send or request money to or from anyone with an email address.

hyperWALLET FUNCTIONALITY

FINANCIAL INSTITUTION TRANSFERS

Add Cash: Using MemberDirect, you can transfer cash into hyperWALLET directly from your Rochdale account. hyperWALLET is integrated into the online banking interface of MemberDirect, therefore, the transfer is completed in real-time using the integrated hyperWALLET “Add Cash” function.

CashOut: hyperWALLET users can transfer funds from their Wallet to a credit union or bank account at any financial institution in Canada or the United States by using the “CashOut” tab in hyperWALLET.

Transferring to a Rochdale Credit Union Account: From within hyperWALLET, click on the CashOut link. Select from the NEW Financial Institution Account listing. Complete the Financial Institution information as follows:

Financial Institution: Select “Ontario Credit Unions”

Transit Number:   Woodstock branch - key in 60282
Ingersoll branch - key in 60272
Norwich branch - key in 60242
Account Number: Enter your Rochdale account number
Account Holder Name:   Enter your name


NOTE:

If you intend to cash out to this account at some point in the future, then click the

“Save as Nickname” box, and enter the name of the account. (Eg, Rochdale account.) This will save the account details within your wallet, and will simplify future cashout transactions.

Finally, confirm the transaction and the money will be credited to your account within 1 to 2 business days, depending on the time of the transaction.

Transferring to another Financial Institution: Select the appropriate account type (either CAD$ in Canada, US$ in Canada, or US$ in the US), enters the bank account information, enters the amount, confirms the transaction and the money will be credited to their account within 1 to 2 business days for a Canadian account, and

3 to 5 days for a United States account. The delivery of the CashOut depends on the time of the transaction and the destination financial institution. The necessary bank account information is found on a cheque or a bankbook. hyperWALLET provides visual examples of both Canadian and US cheques on the CashOut web page

EMAIL MONEY TRANSFERS (Beam Cash)

Send money to another person using email. Once you have transferred cash to your hyperWALLET from your Rochdale account, simply go to the “Beam Cash” tab in your Wallet and enter the recipient’s email address, the amount to send, and a message to the recipient. The cash will be transferred from your Wallet to the recipient’s Wallet and an email will be sent to the recipient informing them of the transfer. You can also require the recipient to answer a security question to accept the cash. The recipient must then log into their Wallet and accept or reject the cash to finalize the transaction. If the recipient doesn’t have a Wallet, hyperWALLET will hold the funds in a special account until the user signs up, and then transfer the cash. You as the sender can cancel the transfer at any time prior to the recipient’s acceptance of the cash.

EXCHANGE CURRENCIES

hyperWALLET is a multi-currency system supporting both Canadian and American dollars. Although only Canadian dollars can be transferred into hyperWALLET from a bank account at this time, once the funds are in the Wallet, Canadian dollars can be converted to American dollars and vice versa in real-time, based on the hyperWALLET exchange rate. American dollars can be used for any payment transaction performed with hyperWALLET such as email transfers, auction payments and transferring money into an American bank account.

AUCTION PAYMENTS

hyperWALLET offers a suite of payment tools to support the ever-growing online auction market. Specifically designed tools to support eBay auctions enable users to send or receive auction payments. hyperWALLET has also added credit card capabilities to support eBay auction payments. (Credit Card payments are currently only available for eBay transactions)

REMITTANCE PAYMENTS

The Beam Cash function provides a single email transfer transaction. With the remittance function, you can send multiple email payments with personalized messages in a single transfer. Need to pay 20 people $20.00 each for an online survey? Add the email address, amount to send, a message or any details to a spreadsheet organized by column, save the spreadsheet in a special format called csv, and then upload the file with the remittance tool. A few simple steps later you are able to send all 20 payments in one transaction with all the same email notification and security features of a single Beam Cash transaction.

WEB CHEQUE PAYMENTS

The hyperWALLET web cheque is a blank payment form similar to a real world cheque. You generate the HTML code with the Web Cheque Tool and add the code to your web site. This code will then display the hyperWALLET logo on the your web site. A buyer shopping on a web site accepting hyperWALLET payments decides they want to buy Grandma’s Homemade Strawberry Jam so they click on the hyperWALLET logo which will redirect them to the hyperWALLET web site. The user will login to hyperWALLET, or signup if necessary, enter the payment amount and details and confirm the payment. An email is sent to the web site vendor notifying them of the payment including any shipping or order details included with the payment by the buyer.

INVOICE PAYMENTS

This tool generates an electronic invoice and sends an email notification to the recipient.

The recipient can then login to their hyperWALLET account and pay the invoice using CASH. Electronic invoices can be used to replace costly paper invoices and enable fast and efficient online payments.

The following transaction limits have been set by Rochdale and hyperWALLET for fraud prevention. Members are informed of these limits through the hyperWALLET help text within MemberDirect.

The transaction limits are:

Weekly: $2,000

Monthly: $5,000

Rochdale member service staff will be able to answer inquiries about the hyperWALLET functions integrated into MemberDirect, and general questions about the hyperWALLET service delivered via the hyperWALLET web site.
